The 2024-25 school year is underway, and Madeira is thrilled to announce that new faculty and staff members have joined the community.
Kathy Chery has joined us as our Chief Financial Officer. Kathy was the Chief Financial Officer at Georgetown Day School and before that at Rhode Island School of Design.
Carolina Covarrubias is our new World Languages Department Chair. She was most recently at the DC International School and The Potomac School as a Spanish Teacher.
Nicki Felmus joined our History Department. She most recently taught US History and US Government and served as an advisor at Jackson-Reed High School in Washington, DC.
Macy Kleinfelder is our new Dean of Student Life and Culture. She spent the past two years as the Dean of Students and Campus Life at Stuart Hall School in Staunton, VA. Prior to Stuart Hall, she was at Williams School in New London, CT, serving as Dean of Student Affairs and then Director of the Upper School.
Christine Knight, our new Chief Advancement Officer, joins us from Chatham Hall School in Chatham Hall, VA where she served in the CAO role for the past 10 years. Before that, she was at UVA as the Senior Director, Campaign and Development Operations at the Darden School of Business.
Anna-Sophia Massaro ’18 joins the Advancement Office as the Advancement Associate. After graduating from Madeira, Anna-Sophia attended Bates College and majored in Philosophy. She joins us after working at the Institute for Justice and Camp Greenway.
Ian Palmer joined our Math Department. He has been at the Lovett School as a Middle and Upper School Math teacher since 2011.
Hadley Zeavin has taken the lead in our advisory and class meeting programming, joining Macy in the Student Life and Campus Life Office as the new Associate Dean. She was most recently at Westover School as the Chief Strategic Inclusion Officer, and before that she was at La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego as the Director of Service Learning & Experiential Education and Community Service Learning Coordinator.
