Madeira Equestrian Wins IEA Regional Championship

The Equestrian team earned first place at IEA Regional Finals on Saturday, February 26. The first-place finish secures a spot at next month’s Zone Finals for a chance to advance to the National Finals in April. Madeira Equestrian is currently among the top 12 teams from Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia.

Congratulations also to individual riders Elizabeth S. ’24, Helen T. ’24, Daisy B. ’24, Rachel P. ’22, and Maddie S. ’24 who qualified for Zone Finals by finishing first or second in their individual events on Saturday.

Teamwork and camaraderie were on display from the team during the cold and windy competition. Special kudos to Lillian B. ’22 for winning the Regional Sportsmanship Award, voted by coaches, officials, and competition staff.
