Board of Trustees Announcement

As the 2024-25 school year launched, Madeira welcomed its Board of Trustees back to campus for an annual fall meeting, including several new faces. As keepers of the mission and legal fiduciaries of Madeira, the Board of Trustees is charged with long-range, strategic planning for the School. Each trustee actively promotes the School’s mission while accepting accountability for the financial and strategic future of the institution.

His practice primarily involves defending the First Amendment, expanding voting rights, reforming the criminal legal system, and protecting women, minority groups, and other vulnerable populations - especially those who identify as BIPOC and LGBTQ+. In recent years, David’s work has resulted in a binding statewide appellate court decision recognizing the rights of transgender students to be treated equally under the Minnesota Constitution, a precedent-setting settlement requiring systemic changes in the policing of citizens exercising their free speech rights, and the repeal of a felony disenfranchisement law that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called "the most significant expansion of voting rights in Minnesota in a half-century." And that is only a few of his recent accomplishments.

David is a first-generation college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business management and ethics, master’s degree focused on ethics and religion, and a law degree from Loyola University Chicago.
