Madeira Athletics has commenced the fall sports season!
On September 7 with the Tennis team competing against Flint Hill School. Both JV and Varsity dropped to the Huskies, 5-2, as program gets back into the swing of the season.
Soccer kicked off the season with home matches against non-conference Bishop Ireton. Scarlett Olson ’24, scored the lone goal for the Snails as the team trailed the Cardinals 1-3. The faceoff with Bishop Ireton continued on the tennis courts and unfortunately the Varsity Snails fell to the Cardinals, 4-3. All three pairs of Snails doubles won their matchups.
Volleyball continued with a pair of season openers on Friday, September 10 at home versus King Abdullah Academy (KAA). Although the JV squad dropped to KAA in two sets, the Varsity team handled KAA in 3 sets; 25-4, 25-15,25-21.
Field Hockey and Varsity Volleyball capped off the week with ISL Playdays on Saturday, September 11.
