Clubs & Community Service

With more than thirty-six clubs and interest groups to choose from, the club program at Madeira lets students and adults in the community explore shared interests.

Who joins clubs?

Nearly every Madeira girl belongs to one or two clubs, and many belong to four or five.

Why do so many Madeira girls join clubs or interest groups?

Clubs and interest groups provide girls with:

  • leadership opportunities
  • public speaking experience
  • chances to plan and organize events
  • opportunities to expand their cultural and educational interests
  • many ways to have fun with friends and teachers!

What is the difference between clubs and interest groups?

Clubs have more responsibilities than interest groups and are given an account with the Business Office. Interest groups are less formal and may be formed around specific interests during the course of the year.

Beyond the classroom and Co-Curriculum, several clubs and organizational connections at Madeira provide volunteer opportunities.
