Sophomore Year
Service Education
Sophomores volunteer at community service organizations such as hospitals, day care centers, nursing homes, soup kitchens, ESOL elementary schools, and centers for the mentally and physically challenged. Working directly with these diverse populations teaches and promotes the importance and satisfaction of service to others and highlights community issues.
Journals, Visits and Evaluations
Students keep journals detailing their experiences at their placements. In addition, the internship sponsor submits written evaluations of the student each semester. Sophomore advisors are encouraged to visit and observe their advisees on Wednesdays.
