On Campus

International dinners, international movie nights, bi-weekly international supermarket runs, assemblies on international issues, celebrations of holidays, and international clubs make our campus a vibrant and active global community.

Global Clubs

Madeira has number of active clubs that celebrate world cultures and promote global thinking. And we always welcome students to start new clubs.

The African Affairs Club

spreads awareness about current and recent issues in Africa.

Amnesty International

educates the community on human rights issues around the world.

The Asian Student Association

educates about Asian issues and shares Asian culture with the community.

The Black Student Union

promotes black history and culture, tolerance, and cross-cultural sisterhood.

The Community Service Club

encourages members of the Madeira community to see active service to others as an important part of life and to make an impact on both the Madeira community and the wider world.

The French Club

promotes French culture and speaking skills.

Habitat for Humanity

provides international service learning opportunities by supporting international habitats and promoting awareness.

The Latin Club

promotes ancient cultural awareness by providing a variety of events, including lectures, food tastings, and field trips.

The Madeira Environmental Student Association

raises the awareness in the Madeira community of environmental issues and helps environmental organizations locally and globally.

The Model United Nations

helps students gain a greater sense of responsibility for actions in a global community and develop the skills necessary to be effective and ethical leaders.

The Muslim Students’ Association

works to create a strong Muslim community and to create awareness about Muslim religion.

The Spanish Club

helps students learn about and experience the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

Ambassadors

The Ambassadors program began in 1996 to welcome new international students to Madeira.

Ambassadors help to facilitate international student orientation, welcome international students to the campus, and integrate international students into the community. Ambassadors also plan cultural and social events on and off campus, including dinners, movies, cultural bulletin boards, study breaks, and Madeira’s International Week.

The Ambassadors program hosts International Week, and other Madeira clubs are invited to coordinate events.
